Moreover, all these UV Systems are certified by NSF and they have germicidal properties, being very safe and efficient. Let’s see which are the products available and which are their main properties.

Pelican Basic Ultra Violet (UV) Disinfection System

The Pelican Basic UV Systems include two models PUF-7 and PUV-14. Both Pelican whole house water treatment systems offer the same advantages by using environmentally friendly UV light. Pelican Water Softeners

To complete the water purification process, Pelican whole house water treatment systems also provide advanced and highly-efficient water softeners that remove the harsh and damaging minerals from the water. The best part about these systems is that they are salt-free so the taste of the water is not modified in any way and they leave in the good minerals as well.

Water softeners are used to make the water softer in order to prevent limescale that could damage your appliances or affect your skin and hair. If the water in your home is hard, you will often notice limescale deposits after cleaning the bathroom and on the internal parts of the dishwasher or washing machine, and a feeling of dry skin after bathing. A water softener from Pelican can solve all these issues by conditioning the water without making it feel slippery. The softeners can be installed both indoors and outdoors as well as you protected them from freezing and they can filter all the water running through your house, even the one you use for watering the lawn.

The NS3 model can handle up to 3 bathrooms while the NS6 is powerful enough to handle up to 6 bathrooms. There is also a pre-filter included to prevent large debris from getting into the softener in order to prolong its life. The costs of purchasing one of the Pelican softeners can reach $3,700 but luckily, the manufacturer often offers promotions of up to 50%.

  1. Jarvis says:

I recently bought the NaturSoft system and I’m stunned by its performance. The water that I consume and use in various chores is a lot cleaner, tasting and smelling great!

  2. Jolline says:

How do I figure out what system is best for me to use?

    • Mandy Thorn says:

The only way to know for sure what type of whole house water filter suits your needs best is to test the water. Either invest in a home water test kit or take a water sample to a specialized lab and wait for the results. Afterward, simply make your choice depending on the types of contaminants that you’re dealing with.

      • Jolline says:

Thank you for the wonderful idea! I noticed that you have a listing of the best test kits as well. Could you please recommend one for me to purchase?

        • Mandy Thorn says:

If money isn’t an issue and you don’t want to take any risks, we definitely recommend the PurTest TST-HWAK. In case you don’t have the money needed for it, you can just as easily go for the Mosser Lee LT5010-6 H2O Ok – it’s a little less expensive but it doesn’t sacrifice quality.

  3. Amanda says:

Does the Pelican Premium PC600 soften the water as well, or it only resumes to filtering it?

    • Mandy Thorn says:

Unfortunately, the PC600 only filters the water. In case you have hard water issues, we recommend you use the Pelican NaturSoft NS3 or NS6 models instead.
